So much for my good intentions of blogging at least once a week!! lol
I hope this finds you well.... the year has gone so fast I'm sure we all have whiplash!!
As I was playing around with this one I thought I'd try some different Blend Modes and discovered that I could make it look like quite a nice little night scene....so I thought I'd leave it as a night faerie as , I'm assuming, some of them are actually nocturnal :)
And now it's time for me to resume my state of denial as to the rapid approach of Christmas because, as usual .... I'm not ready!!! Hope you have a lovely one , however you celebrate at this time of year.
Oh, how the subtle variations torment me....... I find myself happy with a new creation, satisfied with all the little sparkles, the shapes of the wings and the overall atmosphere of the setting...... then I just have to try a different gradient layer, a variation in the overall colour or a simple curves adjustment...and I'm damned if I can decide which one to use.... so , here you are! You can decide for yourselves! lol
( oh, and at least it hasn't been a year between posts again! :) )
Hello.... I've been creating again and this time remembered my blog needs feeding before FB or Instagram!! hahaah!!
I decided to buy a new background for my Faeries and found this beautiful scene at Dreamstime...it makes it so much easier to create a gorgeous, magical scene when I get to start with something as lovely as this!
I also decided to play around with a few variations using some Actions I have in my stash... on is called Urban Acid, which was a freebie I downloaded quite a few years back, unfortunately I can't seem to find a link to it. ( maybe you'll have more luck Googling it than me? )
The other actions are from a very talented lady, Annie, over at Paint The Moon.... go and drool over her gorgeous photos and Actions!! ( just make sure you come back and leave me a comment! lol )
Anyway... here she is... my latest magical creation... As is...
PTM Blue Raspberry
PTM Cotton Candy
I also used some leaves from one of Jessica Drossin, another very talented lady! Go check out her stuff, too!
I'd love to hear if you have a favourite, because, of course, I can't decide!!
... I must be THE slackest blogger on the planet!!! ...... I've created so many magical faerie scenes since my last post ( almost a YEAR ago..... will someone explain to me, please, how the months are going by so fast I can barely keep up??? ) and haven't upoaded a single one here!! SLACKER!!! If I could earn money for being so slack , I'd be a very wealthy woman!!
Anyway, before another month passes as I watch the words appearing on my screen as I type..... I'll upload my latest faerie ... all four versions of her!!!
Can you tell I like playing with variations of the wings? :)
Anyway, I've been having fun creating these, I hope you like them. Feel free to tell me which is your favourite set of wings... I can't decide! lol
I was in one of the local cafes a few weeks ago and spotted a very cool looking old gas meter on the wall... so I asked if I could take a picture to 'steampunk' it! The little steampunk faerie was the final touch ...a happy blend of two of my favourite themes!
...much needed on one of those 'blah' days when you just can't get inspired to do housework.... lol
I often find after indulging in a little Photoshop magic my mood improves enough to get into the tasks I didn't want to do!
I love using the same faerie in different settings. Different backgrounds create such different effects with the wings , which is mostly fun to experiment with , but occasionally frustrating enough to make me create a new wing set just for the scene. I guess that's the nature of creativity...exploring, expanding & learning new techniques. That's what I love about it! It's never boring...unlike vacuuming!!!....Which I might go and do now!
Thanks for popping in, hope Life is being wonderful for you
ps the books in the scene are some I purchased here a while ago, when I was still into digi scrapbooking. Check out her gorgeous collections!
